THE TWINING FAMILY. In compiling the annals of the Twining family, the first thing to be dealt with is the origin and history of the name ; for this we must go back years, to the remote begin nings of English history. The Twinings of Twining were of that race which was English before William the Con queror came. The place from which this family arose is. Family. Robert Broughton was the son of John Broughton (d) of Denston, and Anne Denston (d), daughter and heir of John Denston (d) by Katherine Clopton, daughter of Sir William Clopton (d) of Long its of Robert Broughton's parents are preserved in the stained glass windows of Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford, Suffolk, while the 'cadaver tomb' of his maternal.
Elder William Wentworth was living at Exeter, New Hampshire, by , and at Wells, Maine, from In , he moved to Dover, New Hampshire, where he lived most of the rest of his life. He was the father of at least eleven children. He died at Dover ca. /7. Descendants lived in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusettes, New York, Vermont, Illinois, and s: 1.
